Earth Energy Alliance

Earth Energy Alliance
Just launched, the new Earth Energy Alliance website. Earth Energy Alliance is a company focused on educating clients on the development and distribution of renewable sources of energy. We developed the branding earlier this year, and a website was the next logical step for them. Both were very exciting and rewarding projects to be a part of.

Earth Energy Business Cards

We recently completed a brand new branding system for Earth Energy Alliance. It’s always nice to see a project come to fruition in the form of an actual printed piece. I just received the business cards, seen above, last week. These were run on a digital press, and with that in mind, I think the quality was fairly decent.

Keep on Truckin’

If I wasn’t a designer, I’d be a truck driver. That’s a fact. Which is why there is no way in hell I would pass up the opportunity to design the trailer of an 18 wheeler. Not a chance. And for the past niner so months, I have been working with the D’Arrigo Brothers Co. of New York to create the graphics for their big rigs, what I like to think of as portable posters, billboards on wheels. Their trucks deliver fresh vegetables from Upstate New York to New York City every morning, and I’m very pleased with the direction they selected—a rolling meadow motif, half road, half corn field. With any luck, you will see one of these bad boys hauling down the highways in the near future. And that’s a big ten-four, Thundershorts.

Contact Sheet

It’s hard to imagine a contact sheet I never made a print from in college—every roll of film back then was a large portion of my library paycheck. (The rest, of course, was spent on booze.) That’s why I was surprised to find this in one of the boxes underneath my bed. I can’t say I don’t miss being in the dark room, but the immediacy, and the cost, of digital photography has certainly gotten the better of me since.

Quick Update

I still don’t own a television, but in an effort to increase my online presence, I have recently created accounts with several networking tools that are probably long overdue. The most obvious is Facebook, a decision I struggled with internally for almost four years. Admittedly, once the account was activated, I was sad to discover the number of people that share my name. But I’m over that now, and if you would like to add me as a friend, feel free to visit my profile here: Facebook.

I have also just created a delicious account. Delicious is a bookmarking service that can be accessed from any computer. You can also share your bookmarks, which has come in handy quite a bit for me. If you are interested in viewing my inspiration, check out the links here: delicious. My Flickr account has been around for some time now, and you access that by clicking on any of the images below. And last, my Twitter handle is JohnMRudolph. These links are also listed below the “Network” category in the right-hand menu of this blog.

In addition, I wanted to make a note that there is a new project in the works which will focus more on photography. In November I changed hosting services, and that process kept me away from this blog. The whole transfer should have been easy, right? Apparently I like to make anything dealing with code or servers agonizingly difficult. Anyway, I post about twice a month to this blog and, as you can see below, all of the recent entries have been photographs. My plan is to continue with this blog, but perhaps focus more on personal thoughts and random ideas. More of an actually blog, I guess, but don’t quote me on that. I would like to see where the new project flushes out. Of course, I will keep all three of my lucky readers updated.
